Abstract: Objective: To improve the traditional method for refining snake venom serum and develop a new method for preparing snake venom serum with high yield, high purity, low cost, and easy preservation and use. The method first extracts IgG from anti snake venom serum and then enzymatically hydrolyzes it to obtain F (ab,) 2 fragments. F (ab,) 2 is further purified through hydrophobic chromatography, and then desalinated and freeze-dried. The purity of snake venom F (ab,) 2 prepared by the new method was over 90%, and the yield was over 60%. Conclusion: The purity and yield of F (ab,) 2 prepared by the new method have been greatly improved, and the sulfuric acid content has been reduced by half without the addition of other reagents. The amount of ammonium used has shortened the production cycle from 72 hours to 48 hours.
