To investigate the in vitro antitumor activity of cytotoxic extracted from the venom of Agkistrodon acutus in southern Anhui Province Methods: The cytotoxic component was isolated and purified by DEAE Sepharose FF, Source 30s column chromatography. The cytotoxicity of the component to human cancer cells in vitro was determined by MTT colorimetry Results: Two single components (ACTX-6, ACTX-8) isolated from the venom of Agkistrodon acutus in southern Anhui Province had strong inhibitory effects on human nasopharyngeal carcinoma cell line (KB), gastric cancer cell line (BGC), colon cancer cell line (CACO-2), ovarian cancer cell line (HO8910), and lung cancer cell line (A549) in vitro, Conclusion: ACTX-6 has obvious inhibitory and killing effects on human cancer cells in vitro
