To investigate whether fibrinolytic fraction Ⅱ of Agkistrodon acutus venom has thrombolytic effect on carotid thrombosis in rats. Methods The rat carotid artery thrombosis model was used. The fibrinolytic fraction Ⅱ of Agkistrodon acutus venom was injected into the sublingual vein and divided into three dose groups (n=10), the doses of which were 625 μ ｇ·ｋｇ＾－１、１２５０ μ G · kg ± 1 and 2500 μ ｇ·ｋｇ＾－１。 The positive controls were treated with urokinase at doses of 1250IU · kg ± 1, 1500IU · kg ± 1 and 5000IU · kg ± 1, respectively.
